Animal Welfare
Description of beneficiary
A group of animal lovers that perform random acts of kindness. We raise funds by doing events, markets etc.
We then spend the money on sterilizations, dog and cat food which is given to people that are really battling financially.
We also foster pups and kittens if we have enough foster moms available.
We often assist to rehome pets that are looking for new homes, this is often in the case of the elderly having to move into homes/retirement centres.
Top 3 projects
1) starting a small animal shelter” PawPrints”
We have secured land, water etc. and would love to begin building a small animal shelter.
2) Continuing our feeding and sterilization programme.
We feed pets in impoverished areas of East London and also assist with sterilization.
3) Ongoing assistance with helping members of the public and their vet bills (to save lives of cats and dogs)
We often hear of cases whereby a much loved pet needs a lifesaving operation, sadly in some cases the owners cannot afford the veterinary fees - in cases like this we assist.

3 Paws for Maya:
We were approached by a pet owner that had a dog with a sore leg, she explained her family’s financial situation and that she had phoned various vets but she was unable to work out a payment plan. We firstly offered to pay for Maya’s vet visit to diagnose her condition. Maya was diagnosed with cancer, in her one back leg. She had a positive prognosis if her leg was to be amputated. Maya was a lovely young dog only 2 years old. We received a phone call from the vet with the diagnosis and asking East London Animal Welfare if we would be able to pay for a very kindly reduced rate bill. We said YES YES. Maya was operated on within the hour and she is now a happy and much loved doggie back at home with her owners.
