Care of indigent disabled adults and children

Description:

We focus on the care of people with disabilities who come from very poor homes and communities. Our residents are profoundly disabled as a result of motor vehicle accidents, illness, strokes, acts of violence. They are almost all wheel-chair bound and dependent on care for their existence. Our Home is a residential one and people come to us from the age of 18 on a permanent basis. We do all we can to make life as comfortable as possible for our residents.

We also have a Daycare facility called Happy Feet for 20 severely disabled children from the local community.

·         Our Charity Shop which is our main source of funding for the Home

Needs List:

·         Donations of books, furniture, clothes, household items, kitchen ware, toys etc for our Charity Shop.

·         Adult Nappies and linen savers

·         Any types of food to assist with our monthly food costs

·         Linen for single beds – we have 43 beds and are so short at present

·         Any adult clothing or childrens clothing

·         And of course we always need money to meet our monthly running costs

Statistics:

We are for 43 disabled adults in our Home and have a waiting list of 15 people

We care for 20 children in our Daycare Centre
