Our primary focus is to assist undocumented children with Late Registration of birth (LRB). We work in partnership with the Farm Schools, Social Development and Home Affairs to do group LRB applications. Many mothers who were born in SA and went to primary school in SA, are still undocumented. We assist them to find the documentation and access it, and do the application. These children are not registered with the department of education and the schools do not receive teachers or funding for them. This puts a strain on the schools resources.
Current Projects:
Project Tyler: Farm School group LRB applications – 45 candidates applications in
process and we aim to start soon the next school
Dias Farm School resources – Public exposure to assist them with their current
needs list.
Food Parcels – Undocumented families receive no grants for their children. We
aim to assist them with monthly food parcels whilst we are working with them.
Clothing Hampers – We aim to be a resource centre to assist children in crisis with
clothing hampers and have assisted many moms in crisis with baby hampers.
We have just completed building a shack for a disabled man that we are assisting
with his ID application
Khaya Day Care – we are assisting them to complete building their cre`che and will
support them in order to help them to become a good feeder cre`che to the Dias
Farm School.
Get Lukhanyo to school – A CP child that is 13 and in a wheelchair, unable to get to school. We aim
to make the Dias Farm School wheelchair friendly in order that he can start going
to school.
