CANSA/World Cancer Day 2016

This week Algoa Cares features the NPO CANSA in recognition of World Cancer Day which takes place on Thursday the 4th February. As a cancer control organisation that has branches throughout South Africa, CANSA promotes the goals and objectives of World Cancer Day on every media platform. World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for  International Cancer Control and its overarching goal is to reduce premature deaths from cancer. World Cancer day takes place every year and is the singular initiative under which the world can unite together in the fight against the world global cancer epidemic.

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR WORLD CANCER DAY :

This year’s ‘We can, I can’ campaign is inviting businesses to create healthy working environments. They would also like to encourage individual employees to join the World Cancer Day ‘Talking Hands’ campaign on Social Media. All you have to do is write a supportive and inspirational message on your hand using the ‘I can/We can’ theme and then posting a video or a picture or an animated gif of it on your social media account using the hashtags#WorldCancerDay and #We canIcan.
