Aurora Special Care Centre

Aurora Special Care Centre is a locally registered non-profit organization rendering essential services for the past 44 years to vulnerable children and adults with multiple profound physical and intellectual disabilities.

Our projects include :

Paddy Hearts Project – A variety of crafts made by adults with mild intellectual and physical disabilities in our Paddy House Group Home which offers residence and has day visitors attending the programmes.

The stimulation centre has various stimulation projects running in different classes. This assists every individual to reach their full potential and includes things like life skills, sensory stimulation, and communication skills.

We are also excited to announce our annual Christmas Market on the 2nd and 3rd December in aid of our center. This year the market is bigger and better. It runs over two days and will take place at the Badminton Hall in Walmer Downs.

Come on the Friday night for live music and food trucks and on Saturday bring the kids to enjoy our kiddies section.

The event promises to be wonderful with a deli section, lifestyle and home products as well as a variety of kiddies items. The market will also feature loads of products made by our residents and children.

Come and do your Christmas shopping with us all in aid of a good cause!

A list of our needs :

One of our ongoing fundraising efforts is the Aurora Angels project where the general public can sponsor a child or adult’s fees. We always have families who are not able to afford the fees and even a partial donations towards this can make a big difference.

We have a dream of starting a vegetable and sensory garden on a bigger scale so that the children and adults of our centre can be involved in this process. For this we need a variety of planters and plants.
