Kaycee catches up with PRO Linda-Louise Swain ahead of the holiday season: Take a listen.
Since its inception out of the boot of a private motor vehicle in 1983, the AACL Port Elizabeth has steadily grown and today, treats on average, 1300 animals per month. Many of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League Port Elizabeth’s workers are volunteers.
Assistance is provided to indigent communities, including squatter camps, residing in the northern areas of Nelson Mandela Bay. Fieldworkers witness cruelty, neglect and ignorance every day at the many dipping spots in these areas. However, the AACL’s presence and the assistance they provide on a daily and weekly basis has brought both relief and upliftment to these communities and their pets.
The AACL P.E’s clinic is in Cleary Park and our charity shop is in the 9th Avenue, Walmer Shopping Centre.
We also have a food trolley at SUPERPSPAR Main Road Walmer so that shoppers who wish to donate can conveniently buy some food for the trolley while doing their grocery shopping.
Follow us on Facebook - there is never a dull day at the AACL clinic!
Our staff is incredible! Come rain, come shine - they rescue everything from tortoises to snakes, piggies, hens and cows and of course ,dogs and cats!
PLEASE NOTE : Pursuant with a long-standing agreement between the South African Veterinary Council and Animal Welfare Organisations, we do not treat private patients who do not qualify for welfare assistance. An Almonying system (Means Test) is in place and only those who pass this test will be treated at our Animal Welfare Hospitals
