Humewood police in Nelson Mandela Bay are investigating two inquests after the bodies of two people, believed to be homeless men, were found on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the first body was found by a security officer from a local hotel near Happy Valley on Sunday at 5 am.

She says the deceased, who is a well-known vagrant in the area, had no visible injuries.

He was estimated to be in his late forties.

Janse van Rensburg says in the second incident a jogger stumbled onto a body of a man, believed to be in his sixties, near Kings Beach.

She says he too, had no visible injuries and is also believed to be a vagrant.

Janse van Rensburg says the deaths are unrelated and post mortems will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

No foul play is suspected.

Janse van Rensburg says the names of the deceased are known but police are trying to find their next of kin before releasing the names.

Anyone who can assist in identifying them is asked to contact SAPS Humewood on 041 5045019 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or their nearest police station.
